Dr. Garza is a native El Pasoan and Eastwood High School alum. He attended Texas A&M University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science and another in Veterinary Science. Dr. Garza received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1982. After practicing for a year in Hobbs, New Mexico, he came back home and worked for three years as an associate veterinarian in a mixed practice here in El Paso. In 1986, he founded East El Paso Animal Hospital, creating a one-stop-shop for client convenience.
Dr. Garza’s efforts to grow, learn, and serve the animal community have continued with his involvement and service in both local and statewide professional groups. He has served on the Board of Directors at the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, as President of the El Paso Veterinary Medical Association, President of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and served on numerous Committees and Task Forces at the local, state, and national levels.
In his spare time, he enjoys working on his fruit trees, fishing, and spending time with this family.
